Arabic Wedding Invitation Wording and Formal Templates
The invitation is the first part of the celebration to reach the guests, and its wording depends on who is inviting and who is invited. Here is ready wording from the father and the family, invitations for men and for women, a short WhatsApp text, and the order of what goes on the card.
The order of a wedding invitation
Most Arabic wedding cards follow this order, from top to bottom:
- A verse, the Basmala, or an opening line.
- The host: the father, both parents, or the family.
- The invitation line.
- The couple's names, or the groom's name alone, as the family prefers.
- The day and date in Hijri and Gregorian, and the time.
- The venue, with a map link or a QR code.
- A closing line and a prayer, and notes such as «جنة الأطفال منازلهم» (adults only).
Formal wedding invitation wording
Formal wording is in the name of the groom's father, the bride's father, or the whole family; the bride is often named as “the daughter of”:
يتشرّف فلان بن فلان بدعوتكم لحضور حفل زواج ابنه (اسم العريس) على كريمة فلان بن فلان[Name] is honored to invite you to the wedding of his son [groom] to the daughter of [name]
With great joy, the … family is honored to invite you to share in the wedding of their son
The … family is honored to invite you to the wedding of their daughter
Your presence completes our joy

A wedding invitation for men
In much of the Gulf, the men's celebration is held separately, and its invitation is usually to a dinner banquet:
يسرّ فلان بن فلان دعوتكم لتناول طعام العشاء بمناسبة زواج ابنه[Name] is pleased to invite you to dinner on the occasion of his son's wedding
You are warmly welcome at the wedding of … on … at …
A wedding invitation for women
The women's invitation addresses the guests in the feminine plural and comes from the groom's or the bride's mother:
تتشرّف السيدة … بدعوتكنّ لحضور حفل زفاف ابنتهاMrs. … is honored to invite you (ladies) to her daughter's wedding
With warm affection we invite you (ladies) to share the joy of our daughter's wedding
Children's paradise is their homes”: a polite way to say adults only
Short wedding invitation text for WhatsApp
With the image or the invitation link, one sentence with the names, time, and place is enough:
بكل الحب ندعوكم لحضور حفل زواج … يوم … الساعة … في …، وبحضوركم تكتمل فرحتناWith love we invite you to the wedding of … on … at … in …; your presence completes our joy
We would be delighted to have you share our joy at the wedding of …
Instead of a long text and a separate image, send an invitation link with the design, a countdown, the venue on a map and an Add to Calendar button, where each guest can accept or decline.
Short wedding invitation wording
When the card is small or you want something simple, a few lines are enough:
ندعوكم لمشاركتنا فرحة زواج … يوم … في …We invite you to share the joy of …'s wedding on … at …
و… The wedding of … and …, on …, at … pm, at …
Printed or digital invitation?
For many families a printed card is still a mark of respect for elders and formal guests, while a digital invitation is faster, cheaper, and reaches everyone in a minute. Many people do both: one design printed in a small run and sent as an image or link to everyone else.
In Tiraz you design once, then export a print PDF, a WhatsApp image, and an invitation link from the same design.
Verses and prayers for a wedding card
And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy (Quran 30:21)
May God bless you, shower His blessings upon you, and unite you both in goodness
O God, unite their hearts and place affection and mercy between them
The verse is from Surat al-Rum (30:21); the second prayer is a hadith reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi for congratulating a groom, also written on cards in the dual form addressed to both. Copy the verse with its diacritics from a trusted source and set it in a clear Naskh or Thuluth.
Details not to miss
- Make sure the weekday matches both the Hijri and Gregorian dates; it is the most common mistake on cards.
- Write the time with “evening” or “noon,” and the dinner time if it differs from the reception.
- If the men's and women's venues differ, give each its own invitation and map.
- Set an RSVP deadline if numbers are limited, such as «نأمل تأكيد الحضور قبل …» (kindly confirm by …).
- Keep the QR code or map link away from the names so it doesn't crowd the calligraphy.
- Check every family name letter by letter before printing; don't rely on spellcheck.
Common closing lines:
Your presence completes our celebrations
With our best wishes
This invitation is for the named guest only
Fonts for a wedding invitation
Diwani is the favorite for the couple's names, Thuluth for the headline, and Nastaliq for a calm invitation, with the date and venue in a clear font that reads at a glance.
Browse Diwani fonts, and read the article on “aqd qiran” in Arabic calligraphy if the occasion is a nikah.
Engagement invitations
An engagement is usually smaller and closer to family, so its invitation is shorter and lighter:
بكل الحب ندعوكم لمشاركتنا فرحة خطوبة ابنناWith love we invite you to share the joy of our son's engagement
We would be delighted to have you at our daughter's engagement

Design the wedding invitation in Tiraz
Open the template in the editor
Pick one of the wedding templates in Tiraz and it opens in the editor at full size; its fonts and pictures download once and stay on your device. Everything you see is its own layer: texts, photos, and ornaments. Don't start with colors before the text is in, since the length of a name can change the design's balance.

The template open in the editor, with its tools along the bottom. Write the date in Hijri and Gregorian
Select the date text and open Date (or add a new date from the toolbar), pick the day and choose Hijri, Gregorian, or both, adding the weekday and time if you like. Tiraz calculates Hijri with the Umm al-Qura calendar, so there's nothing to convert yourself. Double-check the day you picked; date mistakes are the most common error on cards.

The date panel: Hijri, Gregorian, weekday, and time. Decorate with lettering and elements
Tap graphics in the toolbar to open Elements, then the Calligraphy tab, and pick a piece from Wedding & Engagement. The element lands on the design, where you can scale, move, and recolor it to match; elements with a crown are part of Gold. One or two are enough, since too much decoration buries the names.

The elements library on the Calligraphy tab. Export or share the design
Tap the gold share button at the top of the editor to open Export: a full-size PNG for free, and a print PDF, 4K, and transparent backgrounds with Gold. Tap Share to send it straight to WhatsApp, or Save to keep it in Photos. For a print shop always choose PDF; a phone image prints soft.

The export sheet: format, quality, and background, then share or save.
